Golf Magazine article May 2014

I've read an article 'The new secret to impact' in the May 2014 Golf Magazine in which it is claimed that you can find out your 'natural swing', on what plane you should swing, how to hinge etc based on a few movement tests. It sounds interesting however as with most articles I am not sure how much of that is really correct.

What is your take on it?
 
I am currently trying to change my backswing to be a bit more upright (it is fairly flat at the moment which leads to a steep downswing, still coming from the inside though). After reading the article (and seeing the videos in the iPad version) I am wondering whether I should or whether that is my 'natural plane'.
