Golfer's wife in need of advice

I want to buy my husband a watch. As he's always playing golf I want something that is shockproof. Can you guys give me some advices? (I've heard the best consultants are in this place ;)). I want to buy him something nice because it's for our special anniversary.

Thanks for your help :)

Tag Heuer has a golf watch that I read about. They said that with this watch they basically fixed everything that golfers hate about watches. It's very light, doesn't make noise or move around when you swing (the band form fits to your wrist or something), etc. I think Tiger wears it...and he said he used to hate wearing watches golfing.

Sounds good to me. The only watches I'll wear so far when I golf are Timex watches...they're very small and light. Look for something that would feel like a Timex when you wear it...small and light and snug around the wrist is key.

Flora i'll be very honest with you, the first thing you should do is find out if he actually wears a watch golfing now. Many many golfers don't wear watches when they golf. So if he doesn't, you will have more options open to you since it won't need to be "golf specific."

Hope that helps.

I agree with Jim. Don't buy him a watch to wear on the course.

If he really wants one, then buy him a digitial watch (timex/casio-something with backlight (indiglo) and a nice big display so it's easy to read). Those watches are normally in the 30-50 dollar range.

Thank you for the replies.
I've been once or twice on the course with my husband and so I know he used to wear his watch (used, because he broke it)while golfing. As it would be a gift for our wedding anniversary, I was thinking of a nice watch. Not the most upscale one but something nice.
That Tag heuer watch could be interesting... Please, where can I read more about it?

Noticed the first thing Tigers caddie did after his Sunday round (actually before even getting off the course, hugging his mum & signing his scorecard) was to hand Tiger a watch that Tiger immediately put on. Guess it was the Tag Heuer. I am sure Tiger gets paid *pretty* well for that little gesture.

Article sais 8000 watches @ 1,100. Thats $8,8 mil. You guess the rest.

However I must say the video is pretty neat:

Yikes...she's a pricy lass. I'd find out if he likes Tiger Woods as well. It's an awesome watch, but you'd have to think he'll have some reservations about wearing something that has Tiger's name on it if he isn't a fan.

Thank you gentlemen for your concern. I know my husband likes Tiger Woods. He was kind of happy when he watched him won the last masters. So I guess this will be a present he'll enjoy. Our anniversary is in 10 days so I'd better hurry to find one of these watches.
Thank you again for helping me, you did a great job :)
