I have been playing golf, this time around, for about 12 years. Up to 3 years ago I was nicely on my way to single figures then in April 2000 I hit a big shank on a 200 yard par 3. Since that time, yes 3 years!, I have been plagued by shanks. mainly I hit them on par 3's but I can also find them anywhere on the course. If I don't hit more than 2 shanks in a round then I reckon I've done well. Despite having lessons, seems like 100's, I have not found a cure that works. Standing further away from the ball, closer to the ball, shorter backswing (seems to work best), posture changes....I've tried them all.
Par 3's when I don't hit a shank ball flight tends to be a pull (out-in?). I'm 49 years old and now have gone from 11 to 17 handicap in 3 years.
Ideas?
