Brian, I think it would be a helpful conversation to discuss why you recommend the grip you do, and why Ben uses the grip he does. Personally, I think most folks should start with a grip more like Ben's, and move towards your model only after learning decent contact, and proper rotation, and the feel of a firm left side.

Thoughts on this?

Yes, at least from what I can see....

Ben has his left hand turned slightly (if back of the left hand facing target is Brian's, I'd say Ben has his left hand turned about 45 degrees) - both have the right hand in basically the same position, right palm facing target, as do all folks with good grips IMO.

not making a judgement brian, just want to have a discussion about the advantages/disadvantages of each. Are you still planning to write an article on why you advocate the grip you do? I'd like to understand why you decided to go a different route than Ben re: grip.

I would like to know more about why Brian chose this action too. I use a stonger grip because it feels more natural to me.

Looking forward to it, should be a great article and very helpful to folks. It would be nice if you would include a discussion of the Alex Morrison grip, I find that many folks do quite well with it, despite the decreased lag potential inherent in it, much more control of the club.

remember guys....I have PLENTY of students with Strong Single Action grips.

I'm used to SSA and am keeping it only because I have developed a callous on the inside corner of my left thumb as a result of it applying pressure to the aft side of the shaft, and I would hate to see it go to waste.[:0]

That pic alone will help a LOT of folks.... deserves a thread of its own.

Thanks for posting it Brian.

So the grip IS partially in the fingers? Appears to run across the bottom segment of the left index finger. Butt-end is well down across bottom of the left palm, though. Would that tend to angle the shaft to make the club closer to an extension of the left arm?
