Grip / callous / blister issue...

Been playing a lot of golf lately. On my right hand, ring finger, the joint below the top of the finger on the right side...has developed a huge callous. It seems this area is what presses up against the left index finger and some friction there is causing this to happen.Lately, this thing has been getting really sore due to playing to much golf and rubbing a blister in it.

I know several people that have this same callous at this place. I was told it was from having a proper grip.

Anyone have issues with this and how do you deal with it when it gets sore. Towards the latter part of a round, it really bothers my grip and causes some really poor results.
I tried taping it but it hard to tape a joint/knuckle.

It's normal Bill..

I sticky plaster mine (it's usually at the beginning of the season proper) and play through it.
It then really callouses and is no problem afte that....

I have never seen that or have received that callous, ever. Never on any of my students either.

If there's a callous it means there's some wetness and some friction going on. I don't know why you'd get one there UNLESS the right hand wasn't secure enough and was slipping.

Maybe brian can expand.

Sorry

I've had that one Bill. (assuming you meant left side of the right hand ring finger when looking at the PALM of the hand)

U use interlock??

Yep, that's where it's at...

I moved from interlock to overlap at Brian's suggestion. Prefer overlap now. Still had the callous with interlock. Just playing or practicing more than ever and I'm wearing blisters in the callous.

Noticed tonight on the range that there is some movement causing friction between the right ring and left index finger. I need to focus on that. Not sure why it's happening...but, it's causing the physical issue.

I hit balls last night for the first time in about 5 months, and I've got a nasty blister on the INDEX finger of my right hand (on the left side of it right below the first joint). On top of that, my hands are aching something fierce. I might have overdone it hitting over 200 balls, but I'm wondering if the callous location and achy hands are indicative of something improper in my swing/grip. Death grip on the club, perhaps?

After starting this thread and focusing on it...

it seems I sometimes let my hands twist a bit. If you're looking at your right hand from the top (can see the fingernails), my callous/blister is on the ring finger, in the top section down to the first joint from the finger tip...on the right side.

This is the area that lays on the left hand index finger. When I grip the club with all my knuckles in a line on bottom of the grip, I am ok. If I grip differently...or let my hands move during the swing, then ring finger area rubs against the left index finger second joint, and over time, has created this situation.

Also, I've got a funky looking left index finger on the right side, second joint from all the rubbing there too. It's not sore, just ugly!

Gotta focus on the grip more!
