Grip pressure....

ok, neat forum...very [8D]
for the past 5-6weeks, been hitting the ball extremely well, i've "let go" of hitting a ball and now am hitting through it, accelerating hands steadily...results are awesome but to do this, my grip pressure in fingers is say a 3/10 wich occasionnaly results in clubhead twisting if offcenter hits....ouch. I peeked at BM's grip article but not much about pressure... when i tried say 8/10 in pressure gauge in fingers, felt very "concrete blocks" in hands, big fades and pushes and loss on distance...

when i use more grip pressure, i feel more pressure in front of shaft due to 2 middle fingers in right hand whilst when i use a light pressure, i feel it more like "pushing" the handle so more in the back of handle....any thoughts?
for an idea of my swing,
these days, i seem to use hitting procedure with the longstuff (with an overswing, still workin'that out) and i'm swinging the shortstuff...aint that fun?

Power: Give this a try. Just before walking to the ball, OVERgrip your club (tight). Take a short breath through your nose. Hold both about 2 seconds, then release both fully. Start your clear key, just naturally grip the club (without thinking about it), walk to the ball, and then go. If you do that a few times, you will get a lot of help from what is natural and normal for you in terms of "pressure." You can't make that one up. You have to find ground zero that belongs to you.

Try making your fingers firm , but keeping your wrists and forarms relaxed. That is a tip that I have gotten on here before.

when i try this i stall big time...pretty tough to have firm fingers with no veins popping out in the forearms![)]

Carey, like your take on this, might just be a way to "firm fingers swing key" firm and let loose on the auto-pilot...

anyone got any mental images of having firm fingers and relaxed wrists and forearms activitys?

One that I have heard is to get a thing of toothpaste and grip it like you would grip a club. Squeeze just hard enough to get the toothpaste to come out of the top, but not to squirt out.
