Hands too forward lead to pulls

My most common miss is a pull, (2 handicap, good short game) can do it with every club in the bag but worse with longer irons. I find that my hands tend to creep forward in my address position until they are at an impact position before I start the swing. Or they start at mid body and by the time my forward press finishes they are too far forward again. Could this be the cause of my pulls or do I need to look somewhere else?

Great Question!

The short answer is Yes, you absolutely can pull it because your hands are too forward at address.

Now...

Why is that?

Well, when you hands are forward, you might take the club back much more to the inside.

You might want to feel some loading that you can't because you have already "assembled" so-to-speak. And you try too hard in the change-of-directions with the upper body.

It can also change your right arm/elbow location.

I see this alot with the hands to far forward at address.

Right elbow is out of position inside the body line and the upper right arm is across the right pec.
