Changed to the classic neutral grip, making sure left wrist is flat at the top, using the "twist away" on the backswing and the delayed impact with right forearm rolling over left and all that jazz and literally 1,000 range balls later I'm hitting best ever. Thanks Brian! Problem is I'm 32 and now for 3 weeks I feel awful joint pain in my left hand and fingers- seemingly indicative of arthritis. Obviously I need to see a doctor, but was wandering if any of you have experienced this after hitting the range extensivley after completely changing your grip. Is this normal or am I aging 40 years too fast?

This is not unsual at all particularly if you are hitting off hard mats. Assuming you are right handed try some stretching and strengthening exercises for the hands and wrists. I would strengthen your rotator cuff muscles in both arms. Another critical area that can easily be over worked from htting golf balls.

I've had that problem...yes, it's typical..and that's one reason why
I don't practice in the winter anymore....'mb' is correct about the mats
(also, don't be surprised if your lofts get screwed up)...I keep
a hand squeezer (for lack of a better term)in my car and do it for
the 20 minute ride - there and back....also, and I don't know why, but
I've been using a magnetic bracelet on the right wrist, but now I don't
have that pain (at all) anymore...I'm afraid not to use it..a side
benefit is I feel in command of the club more know because of the
stronger grip strength...I relize this is anecdotal but that's
my experience.

Glucosamine, Chondroitin (sp) and plenty of stretching......yes.
Takes a few months to see results.
Before these items, frozen fingers and sore back.
After, relatively pain free with excellent flexiblity.
Life after 40 takes a little more care
