On a six-degree 3D machine, Harrington's kinetic chain snaps MUCH better, and all of the accelerations are much better.
Total and complete proof of the distance ineffectiveness of centered or left-shifting pivots.
You need the best run up you can get, and while you should do it from your normal stance, you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO get off of your left foot a bunch—early in the swing—to do it.
