Happy New Year Folks!

Oh, yeah, Happy New Decade Too!!

Twenty Ten will be an exciting year for many reasons, but most especially because I have added a TrackMan to my teaching toolbox.

As most of you know, Manzella Academy Instructors Chris Hamburger in Louisville, and Kevin Shields in Pittsburgh have had a TrackMan now for a while and I have spent quite a bit of time teaching and researching on their machines, as well as other pros who have them as well.

But now I have one of my own.

It is the single biggest advance in Golf Instruction EVER!

A total B.S. ender, and complete time saver.

It makes the lesson better for the student and the teacher.

The process of teaching with a TrackMan makes me remember a lesson I gave early last year at English Turn.

It was to a golfer who is a scratch player that I have known for 25 years. He showed up with all the complaints of a golfer who is swinging way to far inside-out.

Can't get the 3-wood in the air, hitting thin and fat irons shots, hitting push cuts and duck hooks with the driver, etc.

It took me about two shots to see the problem.

But it took dozens to seem to convince him. And to be honest, I don't think I ever did.

You see, when I tell a student they are swinging 8 degrees inside-out, it is just my opinion.

TrackMan is a argument ender.

That lesson went ok. I can get ANYONE to hit the ball better in a lesson. The real trick is getting them to BELIEVE that I am on the right track.

TrackMan is a total an complete impartial judge and jury.

It is going to speed up my constant research faster than anything has in 20 years. Which means you guys will STAY on the cutting edge.

Plus, TrackMan is portable, and will travel with me to all of my tour stops.

Now I have a great facility, at English Turn, a lineup of great Tour Stops, TrackMan, and Casio!

Like a cornerback cuting off an out route, nothing but green grass ahead of me.

Happy New Year! :)

Dead on.

An example of trying to 'convince' somebody is the argument I have with a bunch of 10-20 handicappers I play with every Saturday. They pretty much believe that what seperates them playing anywhere near the level I play at is 'keeping their head down.' Even though I try to tell them that I keep my head too far back and essentially 'too far down' and then tell them when they hit a bad shot that they didn't 'look up' they don't believe me.

One guy thinks that and he probably plays to an 8 and is in his 60's, but can hit his driver about 280 and can actually compress the ball quite well. I then had him hit a few balls, waited until he hit one bad (chunked it) and showed him looking at the ball. Then waited until he topped one and showed him looking at the ball. He was stunned.

Now his problem is that he swings too far to the right, but I don't have Trackman on me to convince him that again.

Agree!

2D Video was never able to end an arguement rather potentially start another. Brian you are 100% spot on: the ammount of better players that I get that dont buy it is amazing.

I hope all of youre student trully appreciate the financial committment you have made! As from a business perspective it is cheaper in the short term to not invest in trackman and yourself and just BS people like 99.9% of instructors; in the medium to long term you will be the winner.

Congratulations and I am sure the investment will pay dividends.

Does the Trackman have it's own bedroom? Is Mrs. Manzella jealous? :p

Now you just need to let us know about the tour stops.
A lesson sounds like a great way to start the spring.

Happy New Year Brian and rest of of the Manz. Academy! Thanks for running a great forum. I am looking forward in 2010 to reaping the benefits of Brian owning a Trackman...

Heck of a Christmas gift. You will be on The Fast Track now Brian.

Happy New Year to everyone. All the best in 2010. (doesn't it sound more futuristic than 2009)

Awesome!

Brian, you are dead on the mark. Telling and convincing are completely different. I look forward to learning a ton more from you and hope I can add a wee bit back as thanks.

See you at the Show.
