u can still have a over the top swing with the belt buckle drill. BY turning your waist doesn't mean you will drop the club automatically in the slot. YOu need to have an axis tilt in the downswing. Fill up the gap on the left side before you can make a downswing.
This is true, jen, but his sequencing is so far off that adding axis tilt alone won't help. You've got to get the sequence right or all the axis tilt in the world won't help you.

Take a lofted club (pitching wedge should do) and tuck the clubhead into your belt on your left hip, so that the shaft of the club points straight out in front of your hip, left of where your hands would be at set-up. Take a short iron (9,8, or 7) and hit little 100 yard-ish shots, while avoiding hitting the club on the down- and through-swing. Brian may correct me here, but if you want to hit shots straight, axis tilt will take care of itself.
