I just can not get past this ridiculous problem on the downswing. When I get to the top by turning with my hips and core I immediately shift my tailbone left like Brian says. The problem is they go left but my shoulder dips down. That sounds fine and in line with the TGM right shoulder principle but the kicker is not the left slide its the turn.
My downswing is completely lateral (left hip slides left, left shoulder raises, right shoulder drops), however, I just dont turn from there. My right shoulder drops low and inconsistant contact is a result. If I consciously try to turn to the right after my initial move left, my right shoulder feels as if it is moving out and over. My backswing is initiated by a drag away with my hips and I have virtually no slide back off the ball just a bump and turn - right leg straightens a bit) and my position at the top is golden - flat left wrist. I really just need drills or the proper feel of the downswing pivot. Tried the frisbee throw and feels great without the damn club, then I pick up the club and nada!!!
I have purchased all the shorts and building blocks which are outrageously GREAT!!! I understand the basic principles of Brian's method and truly believe in them. I just need to get over this lateral shift without a turn.
