Hi guys, first time post so quick intro - since i found your site a year or so ago have been a huge fan and you guys (the members) and Brian and Co. have helped my game and my coaching hugely so many thanks.
As Brian says that when a student comes for a lesson if the right information is put across to the student in a way they can understand then they should see an immediate improvement in their ball flight - and whilst i am certainly not in Brian's league (i'm trying!) i like to think i have a pretty good success rate.Helped a guy last week and got sooo frustrated with myself at not improving him during the lesson i thought i would ask your advice.
So lesson goes like this - quick summary:
Bad posture (upright),narrow stance. tension everywhere.
Reverse pivot with lower body not supporting pivot and everything leaning left at the top.
TRANSITION - Huge spin out - hips working away from target ,ott with varying contact.
Got the backswing sorted no problem - widened stance and improved posture so he started to pull the left shoulder and hip back in backswing and looked nicely set into right side - so far so good.
Then all he would do from top was the same old transition - no run and jump to left side just a straight spin of left hip only this time contact thinner due to being more behind ball in backswing.
Tried a few drills and feelings which when done slowly produced some results but anything at speed looked like a car crash.
I know transition can be a nightmare to change but have i missed a trick or is this something that will just take time and patience on both our parts?
Any comments would be graetly appreciated.
