Here's a friendly suggestion. Give the readers some background.

Things like, handicap, number of years playing golf, have you, are you taking lessons,
are you familiar with golf instruction lingo, what is your typical miss (slice, hook, etc.),
how far did that 4 iron carry, maybe how far do you hit your 9 iron, etc.

Another very helpful thing is for you to tell the readers what you think is causing your
problem of less than ideal contact. Your answer should guide the complexity of the
suggestions you receive.

ok - here is soome background:
6 handicap, played golf for 20 years, used to be a tournament tennis player so my hand eye coordination helps my less than ideal swing, took lessons from Brian a few years ago and he helped me immensely. before brian I never was able to really take a divot after contact - i was too much of a sweeper with misses being thin shots. i was told i am too handsy through impact and my left arm on the downswing is too high, probably fell back into old habits, my miss tends to be a slight fade. 4 iron carry usually 190 yards. I am very familiar with tgm, but not the lingo. i am very well read in golf instructions (over-read actually). Hope this helps!

That really helps to frame the question.

The action of hitting a forehand tennis shot with your left forearm and hand
in evident your golf swing, particularly in the take away. Take away has that hit it with the
back hand look. One give away is to look at how vertical the hands go in the follow through.
They couldn't get there unless that rear hand wasn't dominating the downswing. Learning to swing more left comes to mind as a goal. The Manzella Videos showing the "Yellow Brick Road path" could be beneficial.

Take my comments as amateur observations.

PS: Let's see, 6 Handicap, 190 hard 4 iron with a slight fade. I believe I would practice
putting and chipping.

Thanks for comments. However, if I couldn't put or chip well I would be a 15 handicap! I miss way too many greens with my mid to long irons!

The tempo and rythm look nice but you need a more dynamic pivot; you look like you are using very little lower body and its all arms and hands.

Maybe some practice doing a lagging club takeaway that will give you the feel of using your body more instead of your hands/arms to move the club. Your impact position looks very weak, no hip rotation, kinda coming up out of it, look how vertical the club is on the follow through. I would recomend doing some thread searches on LCT and Brian has some good youtube vids on pivots.

Edit: Your impact position looks almost identical to your address position from the DTL view.

thanks - matt
question for both matt and softconsult - not sure why my hands are so vertical in followthrough - poor pivot or using too much left hand (I'm lefty) or both?

Right arm is over-rotated at the start of your b.s. and this is because your arms/hands are dominating your whole swing, so your pivot suffers. Some good stuff in there , athletic looking.

The down the line shows me alot i noticed there was no squatting in transition you stayed very tall thru impact. Tiger and Hogan lowered themselves right from the beggining of the swing, Jonnny Miller and others lower themselves into impact or a squatting. If you can use the ground to create pressure then your body will turn instead of lift . As a tennis player how do you smash one? do you bend your knees? or try to swing your arms fast as you can?
