help with choosing driver loft

I want to get the new Titleist D3 driver.
Which loft should I choose?
I see McIlroy using 8.5 deg and Adam Scott using 10.5 deg although their clubhead speed is pretty similar.
I don't have Trackman.

Even though you may not have access to Trackman, there's got to be at least one golf shop near you with some sort of launch monitor that can give you launch angle and spin numbers for different lofts and shafts.

As an alternative, maybe check Titleist's website for fitting days? They will probably bring a launch monitor with them if they have one.

While loft is important, so is the shaft. Taking a short trip to find a Titleist Fitting cart
would sure beat spending $400 bucks on a club that doesn't work for you.

The head (weighting, loft, face angle) has the biggest influence on the ballistics of the ball. The shaft (bend profile, weight, flex) has the biggest influence on how you swing the head. It takes getting both right to have a good driver, but the right loft is absolutely essential in getting an optimized driver. Based on your swing speed, you have an optimal launch angle that will allow you to reach your potential. A general rule is to choose the least amount of head loft that will let you hit that optimal launch angle. Once you have the "right" loft, you can fine tune with the "right" shaft for you.

make them measure the loft and the face angle, they are always +/- 1-2* for quality control. Doesn't really matter what's on the club, matter's how it plays.

McIlroy could be hitting up on the ball more with a more neutral face and Scott might have a 10.5 and have it bent open so it plays with less loft.
