Help with right arm collapsing on backswing

Any suggestions, drills, swing thoughts, etc...I know I do it and I try to concentrate on not doing it, but my right arm always want to bend more as I get to the top of my swing.

I try to feel like I'm pushing back with my right thumb pad on my left thumb, but the arms/elbows just can't help themselves from breaking down.

I guess subconciously I feel that it's a longer swing and my hands are further from the ball and will generate more speed on the way down.

Please help.

Thanks,

Golfwolf,
I used to struggle mightily with this problem and never understood why I couldn't "not" do it. Finally I figured out that I was cocking my right wrist at the top of my backswing. It's not a problem any more. I hope that this helps.

Thankfully no one walked by my office as I was taking practice swings...what you say makes sense. I bought NSA last week and am just working on bending my wrist, but I guess there's a chance that it cocks at the end. What did you do to prevent this?

Hey Golfwolf have you seen the new commercial where the boss walks through the office area and everyone is watching golf on their computers and he fires them. Don't let that happen to you. As far as not collapsing at the top of my swing, it took a lot of work because I didn't feel like I was collapsing. I shot a lot of video and did a lot of mirror work on just getting to the top of my backswing correctly. It took me several months. I knew that not much else in my swing would improve drastically until I fixed this problem so I worked and worked at getting this corrected. I still have to watch out for it because it tries to creep back into my swing if I don't pay attention. Twistaway seemed to help me the most. For me, bending my right wrist back and holding it helped more than anything else until I got used to it. I hope that this helps and maybe Jim or Brian will post about this, especially if they feel that something I said isn't correct. I can guarantee you that getting this fixed is worth your time and effort and the results from ballstriking will make it worth your while.

Best wishes,
Jim S.
