Jr. shoots 65 in his first attempt at breaking into the starting 5 rotation as a frosh in college.

Thanks for your help! :)

That is a great score. How old is Jr?

Hue...he's 18...of course he comes home today and apparently is not hitting it very good so he told me he already made a lesson with Brian for tomorrow.

He says he hasn't been able to lift weights with his busy schedule and he really truly believes that lifting helps his ball-striking greatly.

Raptureme: what sort of lifting does your son do? My build is fairly thin (tall, long arms). I think some sort of strength training will aid my swing...

Densikat, check out Bigger,Faster, Stronger. Great muscle endurance, fullrange motion, explosiveness, plenty of stretching, great flexibility. All our athletes go through it. Has benefitted every sport. Lean flexible strength.

densi....He pretty much does what a football player would do...Bench, lats, shoulders, abs, squats, curls etc.

His problem is that he swings too hard....and as Brian pointed out that sometimes causes him to actually lose some lag and it causes him to "short-arm" his shots. Both contributing to lost distance and accuracy.

Instead of saying "OK I'm stronger now, I don't have to swing as hard to get it out there"...he says.."I'm stronger now so I can swing even harder"

Typical kid...
