At the end of the day, NOBODY has been able to "just swing" or "just hit" by TGM definitions on any machine that would show the difference.

Such as a really good 3D machine, or a shaft loading measurement device.

So, for all practical purposes, they don't exist in a pure form.

For a truly scientific approach, consider these definitions that I jointly arrived at with the help of physicist Dr. Aaron Zick:

Positive Torque: Actively trying to straighten an out-of-line condition.

Negative Torque: Actively trying to prevent or delay the straightening of an out-of-line condition.

No Torque: Allowing an out-of-line condition to straighten or not straighten, depending on the motion of the "stroke."

Out-of-line conditions include: right arm, left wrist, left hand, left arm & chest, right wrist.

So in the real world, golfers actively and passively use all three.

The trick is knowing how and when.

Brian, Is this aimed at describing and identifying the kinematic sequence for each individual golfer. ie.. Golfers will use a blend of all 3 in every golf swing the job as coach is to get the 3 working in the right sequence for the right amount of time. Recently Greg Rose from TPI was saying at the Scientific golf conference in Arizona, that an effiecient kinematic sequence is where they are going with their instruction curriculum. They don't care how you swing as long as long as your kinematic sequence fires as well as you can make it fire - this is where 3D swing programs will take instuction to the next level

Do you agree??
