Hitting down on the driver

So for the life of me I can't catch the driver on the upswing, at least not yet. Does this mean for the time being I have to aim a little left to get it to go straight? My angle of attack is around -1 to -2 degrees.

I'm trying to simplify this game a bit more for me and try to play one swing, which is why I kind of prefer the downward strike on the driver. Are there any other tips to help me actually get closer to achieving an upward, or at least level, strike with the driver? I've heard lots of axis tilt, way behind the ball, left shoulder comes up, etc, but it's not coming easily.

Also, regarding loft of the driver, will the balloon balls come from more loft or less loft?

Depending on your experience, you may not be able to trust swinging up if you aren't aligned right enough (and, more obviously, a high enough tee). It took me quite a while, but I finally learned how to swing up to hit a driver if I feel I need to (still don't often). In my case, I had to align myself quite a bit right, and then thought about swinging up & left towards my target. When I tried to swing up without setting up properly, it was only useless pulls and fades off the target that came out of it.
