Hitting out of Divots on the range.

Am I the only person on the planet who hits the ball better out of divots? I mean it's not even close. The brain turns off and I just compress the snot out of the ball. When I go back to a "good" lie on the grass the results vary. Sometimes I take a nice divot(a challenge for a reforming flipper such as myself) with good compression. Other times I flip it. I've been on this sight religiously for the last 6 months and I have purchased all the videos.

I guess my question is should I keep hitting out of divots on the range until I can't remember how it to hit any other way?

That brain-off divot experience sounds great. But as to hitting from a good lie, I don't know why you start flipping. Can you invision having low point be in front of the ball and you will maintain your bent right wrist till you get there?

Why not find a nice defined divot, put your ball in it and take a nice big photo of it...

Then look at the photo every opportunity you get...
Look at the photo, close your eyes and try and retain an image of the picture in your mind as long as you can...(this is a trick for developing a photgraphic memory)....

Then when you have a normal lie, simply imagine ("picture") it is in a divot, and hit from there....

dbl...interesting you suggest that cause my last range session I was experimenting with aiming point and driving my hands down to that point. I have to keep working on it...after throwout, I still have a tendancy to stop my pivot and flip the hands through. Getting over 15 years of flipping is proving to be a daunting task for sure.

Thx Putt...I was actually trying to do something along those lines on the range as well. But I really should take a picture and frame it! Man I am weird!

Thx all.
