"Hitting"

Brian....

You have talked about "pure Hitting" before but haven't totally explained your stance as of late.

What are your thoughts on "pure Hitting"? And I mean PURE. Pure enough to call Hitting flat-out, without saying 4-barrel. (which is pushing and pulling at the same time for you non-TGM folks)

IYO is it as possible as some think? How to do it? Would it be golf-like?

Brian you said something a while ago about this before in one of your videos....(it may have had to do with that ISRAD thread)....anything??

I would be interested if Brian had any explanation or views of Hitting. There is not alot of info out here, 99% tends to be on Swinging.

Hitting.

I predict that science will show there really is no hitting or swinging, per se.

My research has shown this to be the case so far. Much more needs to be done.

But...there is a difference in ALIGNMENTS, ala a difference in LOADING POSITION, and a difference in CLUBFACE positioning, etc.

"Pure Hitting" as defined in The Golfing Machine, and promoted by some TGMers, is something you just don't see on tour very much.

Pure Hitting?

Impact address—pivot turns the clubface to the plane—right arm stays behind—loading from the feet—using the right shoulder as a launching pad—NO PULLING—angle hinge through the ball, etc.

Most so-called hitters—who have no idea that groups of people are calling them, claiming them, as hitters—when asked about their swing thoughts, say they are PULLING LIKE MAD.

Basically, you either need some of the alignments and FEELS or you don't. That's my job when I teach. Figuring this out.
