If I were to study hogans book are there any chapters that should be adapted..? If so how.

Of course read in conjunction with Brian's teaching.

For a 90's shooter who with NSA & CFF can really mash the ball "mostly"

Until Brian writes that book Hogan will have to do, Thats not bad company Brian!

Thanks

5 lessons is as good as it gets for golf instruction books. Its simple and tells you everything you need to know for the full swing. That being said, the golf swing is very individual, so everything may not work for you. Read it all, try everything out, keep the parts that work for you, and don't worry about the parts that don't.

I'll tell you what, I'm reading this book about Hogan's secret by Tom Bertrand, a John Schlee disciple. Look it up. It's really good. Some of the "secrets" really parallel some of what Brian taught me.

thing i'd be most wary of is the grip he teaches, it aint for everyone

Which bits ? I read it too and thought it a little artificial....

Hogan's grip in the 5 lessons is a weak one. Not everyone can or should play a weak grip. Making it slightly more strong will make it neutral.

If you are interested in that just watch his youtube video. He tells everything from the book in 8 minutes or so.

Funny you should bring it up. I just read it again this morning :) Actually in a post recently Brian recommended following Hogans grip.

I was wondering if that includes the rolling over the left elbow. I just watched Tom Bertrand's video on you tube and it seemed a little odd focusing on the elbow and not the whole arm.

The grip that Hogan used was indeed a weak grip with the left thumb nearly on top of the grip instead being slightly on the aft side. He also said that he retracted the thumb about 1/2 inch. However, he goes on to say that these were personal modifications and not for everyone. The grip as taught in 5 Lessons was a neutral grip.

As mention previously, Brian endorsed the 5 Lessons grip with the slight right hand modification.

does anyone think the grip pictures in 5 lessons gives the impression that the right hand grip is slightly weaker than the left hand?
