Brian...you said you held Hogan's clubs...

They had that weird reminder...

I'm curious- how heavy were they? Lie angle?

Hogan's 1Iron from Merion was lost...stolen..whatever... and ..later recovered by a guy here in NC...One of the PGA pro's in the area...actually hit a few with it before it was returned to Mr. Hogan...He said the grips were very long...and were sewn from what appeared from the inside with a rib....he also quoted "Only seen a wear spot like that on a short iron the size of a nickel ,toward the heel....never seen it on a 1 Iron"...as he snickered...

Holy crap...nickel? 1-iron? Not bad.

Ya, Brian said the same thing about the rib in his "Hogan's Secret" Audio Answer...made me curious of the specs on his clubs.

1 more question Brian...was the rib in the same spot for all his irons? i.e. same very-weak grip for all his clubs?

Hogan's clubs:

Bent a couple of degrees flat.... PING GOLF style (hold the HOSEL and beat on the HEAD witha rubber mallet).

Also bent OPEN the same way.

Very stiff, heavy shafts....but MUCH weaker in the short clubs (hmmmm).

Reminder was very pronounced and you had to grip it MANZELLA NEUTRAL in the left hand and weaker in the right.

Driver (wood) had ZERO budge and roll.

Several strange putters in the bag.....made a two-ball look like an 8802.

B-man-

You are clearly a Hogan student, so I think you would really enjoy "Afternoons with Mr. Hogan" by Jody Vasquez. He publishes Hogan's specs (length, loft, lies) and confirms Brian's comments re: the reminder grip and the way open clubface.
