What do you think Hogan's average driving accuracy would be using today's equipment on today's courses playing against today's players?

Edit: I am referring to Hogan's 1953 swing (the swing used to win The Open, The US Open and The Masters (schedule would not permit playing PGA Championship at the same time as The Open)

Extra info:
1st rank in driving accuracy in 2007 is 75.47% (Jose Coceres)
100th rank in driving accuracy in 2007 is 63.56% (Steve Flesch)
196th rank in driving accuracy in 2007 is 41.86% (John Daly)

I don't have the data in front of me, but like any great player, hogan would have adjusted to the equiptment and would take more distance over more accuracy in a lot of cases. So he'd probably have similar driving accuracy stats as someone who is slightly above average in length on tour.

Post-accident - much better than the best FIR% of today; 100% FIR and 100% GIR would not be a rare case for him. I voted 86-90% on the average.

Pre-accident - I agree with Jim.

Cheers

Ooops, I forgot to mention...

This would be Hogan's 1953 swing we're talking about here!

I voted 61-70%, and dead middle on tour right now is 63.16%. What is the importance of accuracy (professional quality) over distance as it relates to scoring? The top five scorers are Tiger, Donald, Appleby, Mickelson, and Harrington - their driving accuracy rankings are 192, 125, 142, 149, and 169 respectfully. As a side, the best player on the planet (and probably in history) is only hitting 48% of his fairways - AND HE'S NOT LOST YET. Hogan would be like everyone else playing today - on the Trackman looking to optimize his launch conditions to max his distance, they don't use that thing much for direction, LOL.

would he be as accurate with the lower spin ball, faster fairways, longer shafts, etc... I doubt it. Still better than most though.

a better poll would be what would his scoring average be. Better than Tiger's?
