I all I know is this...true story...

I got the notion of inside aft quadrant from either Brian or someone like MizunoJoe. And I often though of it when making full swings.

Then at the Orlando school Brian said two things to me that will remain in my coconut forever (one of which is related to the setup-and that's another story). While watching me hit balls he said (in almost a whisper) "If you don't hit the inside [aft portion] of this ball, I am going to hurt you."

Well, that's all I needed to remember to ALWAYS gun for the inside aft part of the ball. So, yes. I, on all full shots, shoot for that part of the ball.

On chips, this is basically the same idea but I focus more on what my hands are doing (flat left wrist) for those shots. I want very crisp contact on chips.

of you actually look at the inside aft quadrant of the ball? And if you do, do you do this on chipping as well?

Yes and putting too - one dimple inside. I bet Pelz doesn't know that! ;)

I'm not sure what you mean by on the line of compression.

I'd say either clubface is too open tho.....and/or you're hitting too much towards the inside.

Fool around with ball position too.

when doing this I am leaving the ball WAY right, basically on the line of compression. Any ideas as to why?

Likely blocking the ball to the right. Assuming it's going dead straight to the right you indeed hitting the inside. Now just work on the roll of the forearms (release swivel).

You are, most likely, hitting too far into the inside aft quadrant.

One or two dimples in from the rear of the ball is sufficient - plus what Erik_K said.

Shootin4par, I too was leaving my shots a little to the right when I first started looking at the inside quadrant of the ball.

I later found out that it was because I had both an alignment problem and I wasn't using the power accumulator #3 properly.

Hope this helps.

You not only APPROACH the inside-aft quadrant...you must LEAVE ON the inside-fore quadrant.

Enter at 3:15 EXIT at 8:45!

Only if you hit the ball at low point. The clubhead strikes the ball with an in-to-out IMPACT on it's way to low point before moving inside and on-plane.

That kind of statement will produce bent plane lines. :(
