How much hip slide on the downstroke?

Hi:

Just how much hip slide is there at the beginning of the downstroke? Are there any feelings one should have to know when enough hip slide is accomplished, such as foot pressure, etc. IN one of the past threads, someone uploaded a video of a Paul Bertholy drill, and eveyone commented that there was way too much hip slide and the shoulder dropped too much on the downstroke. Unfortunately, that is how I swing :-((

Also, should the shoulders actually move back and downwards as described in TGM, or should they just stay where they are in the downstroke, and what is described in TGM more of a feeling. Back and downwards is what Bertholy drill looks like, but others commented that that was incorrect.

Thanks

The right shoulder should move down the turned shoulder plane from the top.

To do this, the hips MUST slide some. The amout they MUST slide is the amount thet NEED TO SLIDE to get the shoulder go go down the turned shoulder plane.

Have you tried adding more tilt to your setup?Maintain that tilt on your backswing and you won't need to slide your hips as much on the downswing.

Brian, does the right shoulder move down the turned shoulder plane throughout the entire downswing and follow through?
