Ah-Ha! So Jerry Pate, 1976 US Open Champion, was today's Par-3 winner.
And a whole lot of you are going --- WHAT ...??
Many here may not be aware that the annual Par-3 Contest is open not only to the invitees of the 2005 Masters Tournament, but also to all past winners of the US Open, British Open Championship, PGA Championship, US Amateur and British Amateur.
Same goes for the practice rounds.
