I used to get shoulder injuries so it kind of makes a lot of sense -- my right scapula used to lift a little bit in the backswing. [I'm trying] to keep my shoulders down all throughout my golf swing and not letting them rise up. There's a bit more to Pete's coaching, but that's essentially what every lesson has been."

Probably he's working on a more compact swing which requires lower plane. The more upright the plane is the lesser is probability that his rear shoulder joint stays low.

Cant comment on what he means by keeping his shoulders connected but I know he has one of the new P2 putter grips on the flat stick.
It was invented by a Pro at a course near me, Wicklow Town in Ireland , and has become very popular in a short space of time.
