Hybrid Recommendations

Any recommendations for an easy to hit hybrid, around 17,18 degrees of loft, no offset (neutral) that doesn't hook off the planet? I am currently playing Snake Eyes hybrids that were fitted for me but from time to time I can hit some ugly hooks with it and I lterally cannot hook any other club in my bag if I tried. No confidence in this thing at all.

thx all.

Tough to say what qualifies for "easy to hit" without knowing your level, but the Adams Idea Pro Gold hybrid with a stiff matrix shaft is I think pretty easy to hit, very long (for my swing), and little or no offset. That club is marketed towards better players, but you don't have to be a plus handicap player to like the club. Easy to find used as well as they have a new model out with a different shaft.

I second the Adams Idea Pro Gold recommendation. Works well for me. Others to consider:

Nickent Hybrids - Might be a little closed faced, but I had success with them. They are super cheap now as well.

Mizuno Hybrids - I have hit these before and like them

I'll second the pro gold recommendation, however, I'll vouch for the stock Javlin shaft. I had the 20 and 23 degree all last year and just picked up an used 18 off ebay for 30 or 40 bucks. Much easier to hit off the deck than my 5 wood which it replaced in my bag.

I actually owned this club in 20 degree in both the Javlin and Matrix shaft. Although my handicap (1) would seem to indicate that the Matrix would be the better shaft for me, the Javlin is at least 10 yards longer, much straighter and felt better at impact for me.

Interesting. I might have to find a used one with a Javlin shaft to compare.

I am 15 handicap with a Driver Swing speed of 101 mph. I typically can carry
a driver 240-250. Like i said, my hybrids just want to hook off the planet sometimes and I'd like something I can "go after" and not worry about hooking OB.

I have (had) a few. Currently I have the new Titleist 909H 21 and 24 with Stock Stiff Voodoo shaft. I like them better than the previous Titleist 985H's and the Bobby Jones that I played a little with last year.

But who knows? You simply must try a few and see what fits you.

I do know Brian was talking last year about buying himself one of the Taylormades (as mentioned above) because of adjustability and the importance of lie angle.

It's because the manufacturer's are trying to help the average hack who slices the ball. Put the same club in a good player's hand and it can definitely go left.

No shit! Gotta really try to hit a cut with my Ping 2 iron hybrid, it's supposed to be nuetral but I'm not so sure.

For a long time I loved the Cobra baffler from 3-4 years ago. Then I stumbled upon the Nickent Ironwoods and liked them even better.

I continued on by trying the Wishon 321s utility clubs and the Cleveland Halos.

And I'm back to the Nickents from 2-3 years ago; I find them used for less than $40.

Regarding the hooking issue, most fairway woods and utilities have a face that is too closed. And I tend to hook them....unless I set up with a more open stance.

I would agree about the TM Rescue's. I have never liked hybrids up until this year, and the difference has been the upright lie angle that the TM Rescue provides.
