Hybrids & FW in D plane or Trackman

There has been alot posted about swinging more right with the driver and more left with a wedge. But not much has been said about where one should swing with a hybrid or a fairway wood. Also have a question about the ball position for a hybrid. Anything out there in Trackman that describes this?

Aim or swing a little left unless on a tee than maybe level or to the right if you swing up on it.

i think in general if the ball is behind low point you swing left for a straight ball. as it moves closer to low point (long irons, hybrids, fws, you swing less left, until you get to the driver where (if you hit up on it) you swing right.

I still have a problem understanding all of this. I've been trying to aim left and swing left but I don't know how to still do that if I need the ball to curve left some (draw). SD has you aim and swing a little right to hit a draw.

I don't play a draw with my irons very often but I'd like to know how when I need to. Thanks

Curtis,

KISS....:)

Set up as normal, except....
a) set up to your "target" which is right of real target...
b) clubface is aimed between "target" and real target, depending on how much draw you want....swing same as when setting up "nomal" shot (swing left, but relative to your "right-aimed" swing path), and remember the ball will set off slightly right of where the clubface is aimed and then draw back to your real target....

Hey! Don't call me stupid!! JK

For some reason when I think "swing left" while still trying to hit a draw, pull hook comes into my mine.

you would only swing left for a straight ball, b/c if you "trace a straight plane line" and the ball is behind your low point, the clubhead is still moving out at impact.

the point of the d plane is that you can't hit it straight when you hit down on it unless the plane line is pointing left.
