What a great song that will bring a tear to the eye of ANY REAL New Orleanian.
Vince Vance did it for the 5th Anniversary of Katrina.
It's funny, you know, people of this City, become like the City.
Frank Mackel chased all of us out of town, Lisa brought me back. The newspaper has tried to make me invisible in my home town, but I have 4 million hits a month on a site I run from Lakeview.
I am more "New Orleans" than any three golf pros in the city, but I made my name elsewhere, like the guys I can't shine the shoes of, Harry C and Louis A.
Me and Lisa rebuilt with classic New Orleans-style house on the site of our flooded home, but a contractor screwed us out of $200 large.
But here we are, doing good, going to the Saints—the WORLD CHAMPION SAINTS—NFL Season opener, tonight.
Here is the song, and below is a verse for the little Dago.

I grew up in Da Parish, was born at Hotel Dieu,
in the Picayune Sports Section, I never got my due.
I ball at Norman Playground,
my own Field of Dreams.
The Golf Pro from Da Parish.
I am New Orleans.
