I Can't Stand It....

Another rant.

:)

K quick question first of all...

Regarding Tiger's putt "hitting a ball mark".....

......true story? or clever ploy?

It's tough to tell from that camera angle.....but man.....I dunno.

That thing missed the hole (so if it hopped it woulda hopped pretty good)......and I coulda sworn he started to say (with regards to where he was aiming) "inside r.." (inside right) then switched to "left center."

Sounds sketchy to me.

But then again, I usually root again the guy. :D

....

Having said that.....watching "The Grey Goose 19th Hole".....am I the only guy who can't stand the guy on the left? (and it has nothing to do with what he said about Weir BTW....cause I actually agree)

Not the balck guy on the right (not a big fan of him either tho), not Vince Cellini (not huge on him....but he does not bad as the host), but the other white guy on the left.

I really can't stand him. Such a douche. Everything he says.....omg.....I'm going nuts over here guys.

I want on that show right now.

I"m not a fan of the guy on Grey Goose either. He was on the original Big Break on the golf channel and is/was a radio talk show guy. I guess that is why that got him. As for Tiger's putt, my only thought is, he missed the hole by a bunch (at least from the angle they showed). I can only guess is wasn't that bad of a misread.

Yeah, I'd say Tiger doesn't miss a 4 footer that badly. I do get your frustration though, that was a great Sat/Sun tourney last week and even without TW in the game they took every opportunity to talk about him.

Have you heard Charles Davis ("black guy on the right") commentate football on TBS...wow...

absolutely terrible...

What if he actually aimed inside right (like I thought he started to say) and misread it and pushed it?

Out of character for him yes.....but not impossible. (of course)

I dunno. I want to see some damn footage of this ball hitting a ballmark. All these cameras around and they only give you the angle from behind with his legs blocking.

If he read it perfectly and hit it perfectly like he leads us to believe that thing must've hopped pretty good cause that sucker missed the hole.

lol "black guy on the right".....dunno the dude's name.

No haven't heard him man. (don't watch football much)

Johnny Miller said that he went to green the next morning and put a ball on the same spot as Tiger's putt according to Shotlink. He said there was a pretty deep ball mark that you could not see very well since the grass had been mowed but that he could clearly feel with his thumb. He couldn't confirm that Tiger's putt moved off-line due to the ball mark, but he confirmed that there WAS a good sized ball mark on Tiger's line.

whether or not there's a ball mark, YOU DIDN'T MISS IT. That's the key, it's all about the mental game.

I remember someone saying that Jack said HE never missed a putt from 3-4 feet on the back nine of any of his majors. It was the greens fault.

Same idea with Gary Player, he always blamed something in the sand when he didn't get the ball close. I think i even read something from online when someone played with him in a tournament of some kind and he said that he didn't get it close because of a rock in the sand when there wasn't any rocks at all.

It's all about what you tell yourself.

Ah there we go.....k thanks otto.....that helps.

Cause if Tiger was trying to cover up HIS miss.....really, he's protecting one of his most valuable advantages....fear.

Pretty good post BTW Jim. If u hit a perfect putt that's all u can do eh. After all, a read on a putt is basically just a guess.

And so long as you aren't really a crappy putter who's in denial, I see your point about blaming misses on things other than yourself. A lot of good players prolly do that naturally.

....

BTW Jack NEVER put a bad stroke on one on the back 9 in a major?

Tigre'

I had a feeling he was going to miss that putt.... don't know why. Ball-mark or not I was more surprised at how he played the next hole. He's got "whats his face" by the throat after he hits his approach (was that a fairway metal he used?) left, only to have Tiger (with what?.... a 7-iron?) hit it way left as well. And then Tiger can't it up and down only to have "the guy who needs to get some different sunglasses" can a 12 footer for the win.

Birdie.... as far as Dumig (the guy on the left on the GG), I suggest you get used to it or watch something else. The Golf Channel understands ratings, and if that show's lineup sucked as far as the Nielsens went, he'd be out. He's a lightening rod of sorts, and I'm sure he's been told to stir it up when possible. You may not like his attitude, but he's been on the mark with plenty of his opinions (M. Wie being one of them). I never quite understood the emotions that golf announcers stir with viewers. I watch golf for the action on the course and frankly have never had an announcer get under my skin...... even the ones who can't analyze a swing.

I agree on Kelly T...

I think she just tries too hard. I've liked her in the past but turn down the volume so as not to listen to her on the golf broadcasts.

Faldo can wear on the nerves as well but, overall, is very good.

Bah....I suggest "Dumig" is a bum.

:)

I just like ranting.....and yelling at my screen. ;)

As far as ratings....there's lots of colourful people out there. Heck- put Brian on there....he'd be entertaining AND would say much more intelligent things.

BTW I actually like Faldo a lot.

I don't agree with everything he says either (although I don't find him as bad as "guy on left" in that way)....but I like his personality.

Thumbs up from this man I says.

Tiger and Jack are walking a fine line between a good mental game and being insane. He missed that putt on his own, Johnny Miller is full of crap and trying to act like he made some great discovery for his own ego needs. The ball didn't jump off line during the roll, no ball mark effect, he missed it. Faldo is awesome, Tillman is annoying, the guys on those golf channel shows are complete morons who've never broken 75, or 85 probably.

AHAHAHA THANK YOU.

(new respect for Mr Inconsistent)

I say- conspiracy theory!! Tiger got someone to put that ballmark there after the fact!!!
