I figured it out!

I've been hitting the ball great since joining here and had a personnel best 74 (on a 74.0/135)3 weeks ago then had a week off due to weather but kept swinging in the garage. Then last week I fire a 85 and yesterday a big 89 and was totally frustrated. Every thing was low and on the toe and lacked power. Today I went to the range and tried bending over more at address thinking I was comming out of my spine angle.
Well I started hitting the ball a little better but still had no power. As I was rehearsing my swing I realized I was so focused on keeping my flying wedge with my right hand that the right arm was not straightening out and I was getting the chicken wing. So Then I tried to straighten the right arm into and just past the ball and BINGO, 160 yard 8 irons dead straight. Now a question, is this what you're supposed to do? When talking about aiming point is the thrusting of the right forefinger to the ball followed by the straightening of the right arm?

Ideally you want to straighten the right arm without unbending the right wrist. It sounds like that's what you've stumbled across.

if the left forearm does not rotate then that could be a reason the right arm does not straighten automatically. maybe YOU want to consciously think about straightening the right arm, while I want to think of rotating the left forearm.

Or do BOTH and get those flying wedges in shape - note the 'rotation point'.

This is something I have been wondering as well.

shortgamer characterizes the right hand sensation as "the thrusting of the right forefinger to the ball". In Flipper, Brian chracterizes it as (I think) a heel of the right hand "punch" into the ball, which I have extreme difficulty duplicating/executing (maybe work on the right arm only swings is key here). I have been experiencing some success with the straightening of the right arm with a still-bent right wrist thru impact, but the sensation for me is that the impact force is at the base of the right fore and middle fingers.

Just wanted clarification if possible....the impact force sensation should correctly be felt at the heel of the right hand?

Thanks.
