I want to play with a fade

It simply looks better to my eye and when I played it 20 years ago was much more consistent and I felt like I made the ball do what I had in mind, still hit off line shots but not bad. Would aim slightly left, used extra left hand grip pressure, keep handle ahead of clubhead at impact and made extra effort with clearing hips so I could get club path left of target. Every once in a while I would have a doublecross and ball would go left, I assume I flipped it. I currently aim straight at middle of fairway and flags and under pressure ball goes both right and left of target and hit both draws and fades. When I do hit a good shot ,I simply feel lucky. Still good player but to take it to state contention level, must make changes. Any other suggestions to make ball go left to right?

Hi Michelle, get rid of Leadbetter and find a new instructor. Hah! JK

PS Are you left handed or did you mean left to right?

I learned a great trick from Brian that works very well. I get my hands more in front of the clubhead than normal at impact and it fades.

The Manzella Fade.

Visually AIM left as you need to.

Make sure your STANCE is a little closed to where "you are looking."

Plenty of LIFT early in the backswing...not much in.

Get the weight off of your left side.

Very "straight at the ball" downswing with the arms-hands-clubhead, but left and around with the stomach and hips.

FEEL the clubhead peel slightly across the ball.

Slightly arched left wrist.

Stay in your primary axis tilt.

Brian, How do I remedy with a lot of lift in backswing, not getting my shoulders too steep? Would early be a key word?

Not sure if I understand................could you re-state in different wording so I can get it into my co-co-noot....?
