Michael...this video was very helpful...explained many things very clearly.

When he talks about pros "swinging up" on their drivers, are they manipulating their swings to hit up into the ball? or do they just happen to hit the ball on the upswing because the ball is more forward in their stance?

mostly the latter - playing it further up in their stance....but i'm sure manipulation is taking place for some pros who don't like moving their ball position

and as the trackman tour averages suggest, a lot of pros are still hitting down with their drivers....

Great video.

I am wondering if it could be say you "swing" the same mechanics wise, but change the setup to alter the path.

Also makes the Ben Hogan diagram of ball position and feet position seem well ahead of it's time.

I've been saying the iron /driver swings are different for me for quite a while . Pro keeps saying same swing !
Hogan was way ahead of trackman.... It's in the dirt!

Great explanation by Josh.
Now I know why I was pushing my iron shots the other day when all my driver was dead straight.

If I understand this correctly, draws and fades result from the position of the face at impact relative to the vector representing the bottom of the D-Plane, not relative to the bottom of the swing plane?

The vid was great at explaining the straight shot the only problem is when he said start changing the swing by going over or going under the plane telling that to a 15+ hdcp player wont work that easy as teachers swing changes take months trying to move a shaft 10degrees in one direction takes months look at Kuchar the process was over a yr to flatten angle. The info great the process poor.

Right. For an iron, the ball could be long gone before the clubhead reaches the low point.

Thanks for the link.
He talks about opening and closing the stance while aligning the hoop left and right. It is the plane line that is rotated, right?
