I think I'm decent now. In the past, I've had aberrations where I hit the ball well with my swing thought of the week, but alas it would always deteriorate. But the last swing thought has worked for several weeks.

I only think to achieve maximum left wrist cock at the top and to maintain that cocked position until what feels like impact. Voilà -nice clicking sound and dollar bill sized divots after the ball.

Why?

Because you are maintaining lag pressure. Trying to hold that position makes it much more likely that you can maintain lag pressure, even if you don't feel it as much as you would when using a full sweep release. There is more margin for error.

Do you feel more 'solid' at impact? Like the support of impact is with your entire body, or at least more of it than before? Do you feel it in the left side (swinger) or the right (hitter)?

Can you feel impact in your hands?

Educated hands, feeling the pressure points in your hands.

I am definitely swinging. First time I've experienced hand-controlled pivot sensation, too. Its kind of like trying to describe a new smell to someone. You just have to experience it. Even my short pitches have a crisp little 'click' to them. This is all on the range, so we'll see what the course says.

Why?
I believe the clubface meets the ball slightly open with the "cocked position (hands leading clubhead)" and "LAG" maintained approaching impact and during the "automatic release" (by the centriputal force against "sweetspot"), the "flat left wrist" and "horizontal hinge motion" not only geometrically keep the clubhead going down- and out- and forward through impact as well as closing and square up the clubface at separation, but also physically generate tremendous clubhead speed in very brief period of time (or thrust/acceleration) to counteract the "impact deceleration", specifically the pushing-back force of the bouncing/reforming ball.

In other words, the "line of compression" (at least, horizontally) is well "sustained" with such procedure.
