Impact Bag use?

Does anyone use an Impact Bag? Do you recommend using one?
If you use one, how often and how many swings per session?

What are the potential problems one of these can create?

I use a tire like in the Ben Doyle videos

Problems:

You can manipulate it. Upper body can be used too much

Pluses:

You can develop some good lookin' impact hands.
Used correctly, it can help your pivot.

Monitoring your pivot, really trying to wallop the bag with your pivot , some people can get to into the educated hands thing and don't pay enough attention to the pivot while using it. Always monitor the pivot and make sure you aren't just slapping the bag or tire with a flat left wrist and a bent right wrist.

Allow your pivot to carry your hands.

In trying one for about 70 swings, I found I was really driving hard with my right leg into impact. I guess that's pivot...not sure.

In my mind pivot is hips and the proper chain.

On the downswing my thought is to get the stomach ahead of the ball.

Hip Turn = turning of the hips

Hip Action = when your pants suck up into your crouch

Try the later!
