In defence of the flip

A flip when it's a flip with the leading edge perpendicular to the target line I contend isn't as bad a position as many of the over rotated positions much of today's instruction espouses

Indeed a square faced flip may be a mere 4 inches away from golfing nirvana and with a gentle swinging forward of the left arm may produce tour quality ball striking

Sliding a square leading edge under the ball is what actually happens if you look at slow motion impact videos
Over rotation is the enemy of good dispersal patterns and way too reliant upon timing

So maybe flipping a wee bit further forward is the simple answer
