"Inside back of the ball"

I am reviewing a previous article 'Don't Hit it at the Target' and in the illustrations showing the path of the clubface through the ball, the face contacts the ball much more toward the back than what I have been aiming at.

If looking down at the top of the ball it is a clockface, I am aiming at 4:30 with the face square to that point(in my mind's eye anyway). The illustration shows impact occurring at about 3:10.

My question is...is the graphic in the article meant to show this as the exact aiming point, or is it just showing that the face needs to be square to target line at separation?

It's just showing you what actually happens...and that your should hit slightly inside the ball. Experiment with how much to see what works. Bullet hole through that golf ball in the direction of the hit...and in the direction of the low point of your swing (aiming point).
