Intech(Momentus) Swing Trainer

I've been playing golf for two years now and I usually shoot in the mid to high 40's (occasionally low 50's) for nine. Lately I haven't trusted my grip very much so I decided to get an Intech Swing Trainer(just like the momentus). I've always wanted one primarily because it's easier than swinging two clubs while warming up and it helps you place your hands on the club correctly. I used it for the first time yesterday before I played nine, I also used it in between a couple holes. Believe it or not I shot a 41 and that included a 7 on hole #1.

Not sure if it was just a mental thing or not but it really felt like this swing trainer helped me out. If anything it helped me to trust my grip and swing plane. I do know that this tool was highly recommended on the list of training aids in Golf Digest.

Does anyone else have success stories or thoughts about using one of these?

Just curious.

I like it for warming up, too. But my hands are too big for the training grips to be of any use to me.

I have several types

I have the Intech with the training grip. I liked it fine and I think it will help ingrain a swing path. It is short so I moved on to a Momentus Power Hitter to work on my drive. I love them both but really found the longer Power Hitter to be a benefit. What is nice about the PH is that you can hit balls with it on the range (the one I have is 310 grams). My driver now feels like it weighs nothing and I feel I have much better control of my clubs throughout the swing.

Only problem I have is that I tend to slice the PH and draw my regular driver which I attribute to poor or weak forearm action.

Of all the training devices I have, the ones in my trunk are:

Rover Golf (all three)
Tac-Tic
Power Hitter Pro

I think the weighted clubs are great, because you can really feel it if you lack extension or if you don't hinge properly. Try to make sure there is no slack in your arms and keep pressure with your bent right wrist all the way through the swing.

In competition

Is it ok to put a Momentus in your bag and swing it occasionally between shots during a competitive round?

Not if it takes the number of clubs carried above 14.

Today I was practicing in my garden and thought I would try my husbands irons. Heavier steel shafts. (Mine are lighter graphite) At first I found them harder to swing I was obviously off plane. They forced me to swing on plane to make them lighter and more manouverable, and to hold the lag so they didn't get heavy early. I guess his clubs could be my momentus. I was hitting really well with them in a fairly short while. Right on the sweetspot.
