Is this Float Loading ?

On the weekend i did some practice on my downswing trying to get rid of a bit of flipping at the bottom of the swing. Practicing what i thought to be "float loading" was resulting in some really solid shots.

So this is a practice swing (not a normal swing, just to get the feeling) - is this how float loading would look compared to my normal swing? anything good bad or otherwise?

IMO, no that is not float loading.

Your normal swing lacks a whole lot of pivot and a whole lot of arm swing. What iron were you hitting and what was your intent?

On the "normal swing" using an 8 Iron, concentrating on twistaway and finish swivel. Just some short shots

In the "float loading swing" was using an 8 iron again, just focussing on keeping / increasing my wrist cock and feeling more 'dynamic' with the swing.

My restricted pivot is due to my past history of getting too overactive with the pivot and sliding

So in the float loading swing it feels different but is it ok?... i certainly hit the ball a lot better that way, otherwise feels like i'm moving an iron bar rather than a rope

Float loading will mean in increase in wrist cock heading into downswing, you don't seem to have that...looks more like drag loading to me which is the general loading method for a swinger anyway so is fine in my view. Float loading is not an imperative, although aiming for it may give an even more 'ropey' feel.

Well..

I think all of this "over pivoting" stuff, is just a way to sat "POOR pivoting."

I like your set-up better, but you need to learn to pivot——correctly!
