Why do tournaments keep giving this idiot a spot?

He quits today in a Euro Tour event after taking a wrong drop and taking a two stroke penalty. Before that he was hitting the ball everywhere and generally making a nuisance of himself.

I don't think he even has the game for the Nationwide Tour anymore. He needs to be out on the Adams Tour or similar where he has to put his own money up to play.

I used to be a fan.......now I'm just irritated by his whole schtick.

Nope. He did quit drinking. It's been almost a year. He was here last year and drank DCokes all night. But working out? Bite your tongue!

John can lose weight,quit drinking,work out,practice like Hogan and it wouldn't make a difference.There is no way he isn't going to hit more than his fair share of wild shots with his backswing that long.Winning a couple of majors was just an aberration.

He's the type of character that would do better going back to his old lifestyle.Some people ain't made to live like priests.

I got to play with him 15 years ago...long swing or not, he was a fantastic striker and blended in some great touch. Age and demons have caught up an passed his incredible talents.

John once told me that he didn't understand how anyone could hit a golf ball after lifting weights after he had tried it for a few weeks. He said that muscles got in his way. This was in the 90s.
