John Derr

Did anyone else catch the interview with John Derr on Matt Adams' show this morning on XM? The guy is 94, sharper than most half his age, and has literally talked to or known everyone... Hogan, Nelson, Snead, Einstein, Ruth, Gandhi, Jones, Grace Kelly, and on and on.

Very entertaining interview, especially when he was asked who the greatest golfer of all time was. I expected to hear either Jack or Tiger, maybe Hogan, but he didn't hesitate at all - "Bobby Jones".

He asked Einstein if he played golf... "No. I tried it once, but it was too complicated so I quit."

If you get a chance to catch one of the replays today, I think you'll enjoy it.

You're right. Sharp as a tack; I was surprised to hear that he was 94. I caught some of the Snead conversation and the beginning of the part where he met Edison as a kid.

Would be cool to spend an afternoon talking with this gentleman...

At Carnoustie in 1953, Hogan held up five fingers in giving John Derr the secret.

Five critical factors, to every golfer.

Yet, they are never the same for everyone.
