He always waits for the result of the shot to happen, then he acts like he knew what would happen all along and is much superior mentally to the player. Meanwhile he's the same guy who couln't break 80 when he attempted to play on the senior tour. He never says anything before the shot because he doesn't want to risk being wrong. Say something before the shot Johnny, you wuss.

I've watched a lot of Johnny Miller commentary, and it seems to me that for every time he makes an ex post facto remark, he makes one while the ball is still in flight.

"Roger, did he pull that one?"
"Yes, Johnny this is wayyy left"

I think the guy's got some clout. Multiple Major Championship winner...

Johnny Miller may be washed up as a pro but he was the man for a while. Won 30 PGA events, 2 majors and shot 63 in the final round of the US Open. To me that means he has seen enough to talk some smack plus it makes for better TV=)

Uh, what. First of all, I know exactly who Johnny Miller is and what kind of career he had. That doesn't excuse absurd behavior. And his career was really shaky. Also, Gary Player had a ten times better career and the man is a nutcase.

Seeing a shot start left and saying I think he pulled it is neither impressive nor relevant to what I'm saying. What I'm talking about is the many times he takes a stance on something only when he has seen the result. Like for example, and there are 100s of examples, when Aaron Baddely went for that green on the back nine today in two and came up way short. Only after the shot was a disaster did Johnny say "If I was his caddy I wouldn't have let him hit that shot." He only said that because it didn't work out. He doesn't say anything like that beforehand because he's to much of a coward to risk being wrong. But after the fact he claims to be an all knowing expert. It's pathetic. And it's also pathetic that more people don't realize this.

Another time today. Mickelson had about a ten foot putt on one of the final holes that broke about a foot right. Miller, like a clueless Ken Venturi, says the put is inside right. The putt is more like outside 1 foot left. Then Phil doesn't play enough break and it misses right. Then amazingly Miller says "it just didn't break." And he acts like Phil is probably an idiot who could use some putting lessons from him despite Phil being one of the greatest putters of all time and Johnny Miller being a really horrible putter. If you have todays round on tivo / dvr. Go back and look at those two (and more) shots for giggles.

I love Faldo, Feherty, and McCord. Johnny Miller and Gary Koch make me want to vomit on my living room floor.

So did you vomit?

Just kidding. Let Miller be Miller. Humans build ill-perceived tendencies sometimes. Sooner or later, he'll have a cathartic moment...and will change his approach to commentary.

"Phil being one of the greatest putters of all time..."

Did you REALLY mean to say this? I'll take ANYONE BUT Phil with a 5 footer to win.

After making 100% of his 5 footers and whooping Tiger's ass this week I guess you should write him a formal letter of apology. I think I heard he had 23 putts today and no 3 putts all week. And settle down with the all caps, it's very childish.

I was exaggerating a little bit. But Phil has easily been one of the best putters on tour for the majority of his career. The only reason you think he misses a lot of 5 footers is because he is on tv a lot and you see all of his misses. People say the same thing about Tiger missing a lot of short putts. But they are both actually great short putters.

I have to say that I didn't see much of the tournament yesterday, but I did see the Baddely shot on the last hole...I sure thought I heard Miller question the wisdom of trying to hit that shot before he hit it, being so close to the lip, etc, but maybe I'm wrong.

I like Miller man. He says what he thinks and doesn't kiss ass or try to hype things up. (unlike the other guys' transparent attempts)

I didn't catch the whole thing today...just the end. I saw the Badds shot outta the bunker. I think Miller was right tho man. Or at least it for sure isn't a percentage shot anyway.

Bunkered.....over 200 out......uphill and over a bunch of junk. Nothing and no one forcing you to make a move. Ahhhhh. I'll say it's risky anyhow.
