Judging forward lean, midsole pitching and other things......

Hi everyone,

I have a little obsession with golf gadgets, it used to be ANY gadget....

Now I am a little specific with them :D

Sheriff going very well....I'm happy with putting practice so thats one short game base covered.

I have the official TGM 3D impact bag ( like just now, like a kid at christmas getting it out of box :p ) (please edit for generic foam wedge if need be)

Would I be correct in thinking that by using this you could practice a midsole impact position using the flat side of it at just past IMPACT, rather than at low point opposite shoulder? Or would it be at another location for a mid sole pitch? I'm thinking in the way in the way Brian would use the flat side of his trusty plane board?

I am also getting much better with my chipping and pitching, my pivot is better through the ball but still strugging transfering weight TOO much...

Is it o.k to set up this way for pitch shots?

For lower/forward lean type leading edge chip/pitches:-

Set up square, draw right foot back about 6 inches and "feel" all weight on left foot (i know it's not ALL there).

Pivot around that leg feeling no weight transfer (for shots no further than 1/2 way back)

For higher/midsole less forward lean chip/lob/pitches:-

Set up square, draw left foot back 6 inches and feel weight and pivot around the right hip socket.

All time here i'm thinking hips/shoulders square to "plane" line.

Would people agree it is best on shorter shots to set up at impact location to start with?

Cheers for reading my mumblings

G

I will usually setup on my left side for shorter shots where I am taking a leading edge divot.

Even will do this on some fuller shots. Brian doesn't like this I think...!.....but I have had success with it thusfar.

(it's worth mentioning that I would probably never hit a full driver or long iron this way though especially if it needed to be HIGH)
