Every now and then I like to show some real world examples of my work.

Below is the before and after of a very talented young man, Stephen Cox, who plays for the University of Arkansas.

Stephen played golf for a year with the Razorbacks before playing two years of basketball for the Hogs, and will finish his athletics this year back on the golf team.

Very similar talent to Lindsay Gahm's dad Gordy, who starred for the University of Dayton in the same two sports.

Heck, I wish I had the "before" swing. My untrained eye tells me it looks like you were able to not get him to "pick-up" the club in the take-away - left arm and right arm more parallel compared to the before where his left arm comes way more out front of his right. At the top of he is little higher (just above the top of the shoulder) compared to before where he is below the shoulder. How did I do?

what were the key point(s) that you worked on? was it mostly to get him to go up in the backswing more, or what else?

After getting hooked on the idea of a one plane swing, and after many balls I ended up in the same position as YouTube 1, short, compact, with my right elbow in the same spot, ruined my game, going from a 3-4 to a 10-11, getting better playing at around 6-7. I am really interested in the thoughts or the ideas that were presented to the golfer to get him into this more powerful position.

Am I on the right track?

The after video
The left arm/hand, club was stretched better by way of the pivot. The club is under the left thumb more throughout the swing.

Pivot - The shoulders are more tilted at the top
The right hip is higher @ the top of the backswing
The right shoulder goes more downplane towards the ball on the
downswing.
The seetspot rotates around the hosel more
The arms/club unit was powered back up the plane more
In the before video
The arms fell back to the body more at the finish because they popped out more in the takeaway. It looked like more of a hold on move with a small amount of snap in the chain.

Yes it looks like 1st brian eliminated the pop out the left arm elbow pit is looking more at his face instead of rotating the rt arm visible longer above the left thruout the backswing which lets his elbow get more away as oppossed to stuck behind him. The shoulder turn slightly steeper allowing this move to happen. Then the downswing improved notice the shawdow on the way down club in line with arm instead of under and stuck therefore able to really pivot without hand manipulation at impact.

Hmmm I wish BM could do a before and after like this for me! Hopefully he will head to Cali at point soon.

Brian was this after one lesson?

im guessing it was taken during the same lesson... or mabey he has just one outfit the he takes lessons in.

It is interesting that the "after" swing with less popout results in a more concave wrist at the top of the backswing. This move also allows him to swing slightly more left. My guess is that he hit a fade on the "after" swing.
