K.I.S.S. Swing thought

I need to dumb it down a bit !
I know many feel that no thoughts / clear mind is best. Not for me! I need something a thought or two helps me focus. Maybe when I'm a better ball striker that thought can be all target .

" Grip it & rip it" = over simlified !
" Turn,Turn with a swish in between" = closer.

What works for you ??

My problem areas tend to be the Transition [need to feel more set] and getting through the ball

I know this doesn't make for much of a discussion - but personally I don't like verbal swing thoughts. I might try to sense a particular feeling, or visualise a target direction for my swing - so I can think in terms of tempo, rhythm, balance, contact or aim, but I don't get a lot out of wordy swing thoughts.

Stretch the bow (in the backswing).

Bend it in the middle (in the transition).

Let it go (in the downswing).

Sometimes different ideas work for different days but the most consistent one for me is to make practice swings to a particular finish position, then step up to the ball and repeat getting to that finish position.

I feel the same but figured its worth a try . I will have one or two thoughts / feels that will help . the issue is they are for one part of the swing -
example might be to cover the ball with chest [helps me to compress] or feel like right palm is covering ball . .

I may need to focus on coming from the inside so I'll key on making a full backswing and impact at 4 o'clock [ball]

Tempo has been harder to fix seems like its good or its bad! Seems to help when I force myself to practice with 1/2 -3/4 swings

I guess we all have our own thoughts to help it'd be nice to have something that helps fom start to finish

You can have a dozen swing thoughts and they might all work on the range but once you get out on the course, the swing has to be instinctive with emphasis on good tempo and rhythm.Swing thoughts don't work for more than a few holes.Tempo and rhythm with perhaps one swing key is all you can handle when playing a round of golf.Too many mechanical thoughts wreak havoc with your rhythm.

Why write in absolutist terms, as if giving universal truths? I'm sure different people behave and respond differently than this.

Belt buckle

I think "Belt, Belt"...point the belt buckle behind the ball, then point it in front of the ball.

It keeps me turning and helps with tempo, too.

A few years ago when I was playing more regularly I came across my most effective full swing thought, esp. for driving. I've always been steep into the ball with a lot of lower body motion on the downswing, so my typical flight was a kinda powerful spinning cut that was useless in the Rhode Island winds and certainly not Trackman optimized.

Anyway, my thought was to keep the ball on the face for as long as possible and fling it around the "corner", kinda like jai alai.

Results were a shallower attack and VSP (felt that way anyway) higher launch and a higher percentage of draws.
