Playing the Project X 5.5 (not flighted) in my Cobra pro CB irons- Too SOFT at the tip for me. Have another set of clubs with Rifle flighted 6.5 shafts-Too STIFF for me. Brian had told me about the KBS shafts...looking to order them, but I don't know what stiffness/flex...Does anyone have a recommendation on the flex I should get? I think the "KBS Tour Taper Tip Iron Shaft" is the one that fits my Cobra heads
thanks
Doug

I'd ask KBS. I play some Rifle Flighted 5.5's and they are pretty stiff, but I like them. Once my swing gets more to where I want it to be, I plan on switching in some KBS shafts in place of the Rifles.

Looks like I will be playing Cleveland golf clubs.

And when they arrive, they will immediately be shipped to Phoenix to Cool Clubs, where the irons will be fitted with a set of KBS Tours.

What so good about them?

You can feel the tip—i.e. the clubhead—in the fashion of a Dynamic Gold, but with some of the technology of a Project X.

I can not wait!

I don't know much about equipment, so if you don't mind, could you elaborate on this some more? Specifically the part about the technology of the Project X shafts. Thanks in advance.

Project X shafts launch higher than DG with less spin for an "overall" flatter ball flight. There is also some design into the shaft it self as to how it works. You can go read the description of Project X or KB Tours on their respective websites for a much better description.

Brian-

Did you decide on the cleveland clubs because of some data? Or was it looks, sponsorship or something else? If the reason is based on data, what factors told you to go to these particular clubs?

I have a Cleveland Driver now that I love. I like their wedges the most. And the fairway wood and hybrid are worth a look.

The irons are good as well for what I need.

Sorry to bug ya about this, but I am curious. What do you need? Or is that a personal question?:p

Jim. Brian, et al,

This has puzzled me for a few years. Jim's description of what a PX is supposed to do is in line with everything I've heard. My question is, how can these characteristics be independent of a players "loading pattern" and/or their swing "numbers". Is a Project X supposed to provide the same flight characteristics for a Kenny Perry motion AND for a VJ Singh motion?

I've just never understood how an iron shaft can "get it up quick and then flatten it out" for all players.

Would love to hear more about the KB's after you get them Brian.

It has to do with their design; if fit correctly (big if) the shafts should launch higher than DG with less spin that leads to a flight something like this: /-\ versus DG which tends to have a flight like this: _/\

Sorry for the crude symbols
