Having a hard time this year finding extended periods or any time really to play of practice. Anybody have off course suggestions to keep a semblance of a game?

"Plastics." Get some plastic golf balls, the kind with the wiffle type holes. Chip, pitch, flop, in to a milk crate, or onto a towel or if you're way north a replica of the Stanley Cup will do. Take 'em with you wherever you travel.

While at home, ill set up anything, cups, shoes, anything 4 and a quarter inches.... and chip at it, keeps the short game sharp and it doesn't hurt anything... as long as your pretty careful... but I only like to use real golf balls, the difference in reaction from a whiffle type ball and the real thing is so substantualy diffrent that you loose the feel of how the chip shots are going to react, and feel is the name of the game with your short game... thats all you would be doing indoors anyway, not like your going to hit full shots.

if you have a yard, I recommend the "almost golf" foam balls for full shot practice, they are wonderful for mimicking the flight of a real ball while only going i think a fourth of the distance.

Just an FYI on the "almost golf" foam balls, the Pelz yellow ones. They fly a lot farther than you think. I landed one on my neighbors house with a 7 iron. Great shot, luckily they don't have gutters and it rolled off and I got it back. Now I just let my kids hit them. No more backyard practice for me. I don't even go out with my wedges anymore. Too worried about making divots now that my swing is better.

My backyard looks like a battlegroundwith all the divots everywhere. Some spots are totally dirt. Also there is a hole in the siding and a broken window. I don't go in the backyard too much anymore either.

I know this post is really old, but I could not resist replying. That is hilarious! My back yard looks exactly the same way. Sweet, I knew I wasnt the only one.

I had to show this post to my lady.:D

As for those foam golf balls, yellow ones. HOLY SH*T, they say the fly 1/3 the flight of a real ball. WTF ever, that means I hit my wedge bout 240 yards.

LOOK OUT TIGER, I'm coming for YOU!!!!!
