I know this might be a trip down memory lane for some, but for a guy like myself who's just hopped on the Manzella Express, it's still kinda new; thusly, apologies for those who looked at this thread and are seeing something they already know.
Re: the Kinetic Chain, Is it possible that you could have a technically sound move throughout, but the snap of the chain devolves into something more akin to a gradual slowdown, with the inevitable result of the body motion being too deep - although at first blush, technically correct - onto the other side of the ball before the power package has a chance to work its magic?
I went to the range tonight, felt great throughout, but hit it like a nitwit. Then felt like I was "waiting for it" more on the downswing and started to clonk it with some aplomb. I guess for the cognoscenti, "waiting for it" would be that elusive snap, no?
